Archeology accounts that more than three hundred years ago, in the northern part of Quezon Province, a promising town called Binangonan del Ampon, now known as Infanta, was established. Today, it is declared as the great gateway to the Pacific.
The barangay logo contest was a politically sound initiative by Mayor Grace R. America, not because I was one of the five judges chosen by the lady mayor, but because it was an exercise of giving the 36 barangays the chance to express freely their creativity in local governance by preparing their logos which are reflective of their visions, for a barangay governance without a vision is a barangay governance with a direction out of sight. There is a clarity of purpose of the project, but my very own barangay, Poblacion Bantilan where my family is officially and permanently residing failed to grasp the purpose, instead of depicting its vision, it portrayed its image emphasizing of what is the obvious. It all happened this way.
We envision Infanta to be a community of God-loving, healthy, peaceful, prosperous, self-reliant, self-directing and disaster resilient citizenry, with a diversified economy, a balanced-ecology and a local leadership that is committed to social justice and equity.
