Youths undergo ARH Training to become Peer Educators
Thirty-three youths from Real, Infanta and Gen. Nakar municipalities in Quezon province were trained on Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH). The training is aimed at building the capacity of selected youths on ARH to become peer facilitators. It ran for seven days from May 2-8, 2012 at Sta. Monica Beach Resort, Brgy. Boboin, Infanta, Quezon
The 36 barangays of Infanta are directed to establish Barangay VAW (Violence Against Women) Desk. This directive is pursuant to Municipal Ordinance No. 28-S. 2009 entitled “Gender and Development Code of Infanta” in which Section 8 of said ordinance states that “the 36 barangays of Infanta shall create Women’s Desk to handle cases of violence against women in the barangay.”
The 36 Punong Barangays of Infanta, together with their kagawads and tanod (barangay police) participated in the one-day orientation-seminar on RA 9262 otherwise known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004. The activity held on June 27, 2011 at Fiesta Infanta Restaurant aims to develop and enhance the capacity of barangay officials in handling cases of violence against women and their children (VAWC).
Infanta participated in the nationwide commemoration of the 113th Philippine Independence Day last June 12, 2011 with the theme “Kalayaan, Paninindigan ng Bayan.” The activity started with a parade followed by a short program held at Infanta Social Center which aims to inculcate nationalism among individuals, just as those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
MOA para sa Forest Land Use Plan ng Infanta nilagdaan
Nilagdaan ng pamahalaang Bayan ng Infanta, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region IV-A at Haribon Foundation, Inc. ang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) para sa pagbuo ng Forest Land Use Plan (FLUP) ng Infanta. Ginanap ang MOA signing sa Bulwagang Pulungan ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Infanta noong ika-27 ng Enero, 2011.
