Resorts lifeguards undergo WASAR and Lifesaving Skills Training

The Infanta Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), in partnership with the Philippine Navy, Infanta Local Toursim Council (ILTC)and Municipal Health Office (MHO) conducted a 3-day Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) and Lifesaving Skills Training on May 16 – 18, 2012 at the Philippine Navy – Naval Detachment Infanta– Brgy. Abiawin Station and Cote de Azur Beach Resort in Brgy. Abiawin, Infanta, Quezon. The participants, composed of beach resorts lifeguards were trained on lifesaving methods both offshore and ashore. Participants were also trained in providing first aid to a drowned person, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and choking. This training is aimed at enhancing the capacity of Beach Resort Lifeguards to respond to emergency situations. Also, it aims to further improve tourism services being provided by beach resort operators in the municipality.
